Caroline C. McIntosh
Caroline is a partner at Luzuriaga Mims, LLP with a practice focusing on construction litigation, appellate practice, and state and federal workers' compensation cases, including concurrent jurisdiction claims arising under the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act.
She graduated cum laude from the University of the South (Sewanee) in 1999 with a B.S. degree in Forestry, and received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2006. While attending law school, Caroline clerked for the South Carolina House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, and served on the editorial board of the ABA Real Property, Probate, and Trust Journal from 2004-2006. Prior to entering private practice, Caroline served as a law clerk to The Honorable Jean Hoefer Toal, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Carolina.
Caroline is currently active on behalf of the firm in the South Carolina Self-Insurers Association, South Carolina Maritime Association, the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association, and has spoken at regional seminars on the topics of legal ethics and mitigation of workers' compensation claims. Additionally, Caroline has co-authored multiple papers on Longshore Act matters, to include proving and punishing claims fraud under the Act, concurrent jurisdiction, and ethical considerations for employers, employees, and their attorneys.
