Susan Burroughs Carter

Susan's practice focuses on state and federal workers' compensation cases, including concurrent jurisdiction claims arising under the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. Susan is a member of the American Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association.

Susan was born and raised in Conway, South Carolina. She is a 2011 graduate of Clemson University, from which she earned a B.S. degree in Financial Management. While attending Clemson, she spent a semester studying International Finance and Art History in Barcelona, Spain.

She received her J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2014. During her time at Charleston Law, Susan was a member of Resolved: Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution, as well as the Business Law Society and Women in Law. She also interned for The Honorable Sol Blatt, Jr., Senior U.S. District Judge, and The Honorable Justice Kaye G. Hearn of the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Luzuriaga Mims, Susan served as a law clerk to The Honorable Benjamin H. Culbertson in the 15th Judicial Circuit of South Carolina.
